The Warren & The World Vol 13, Issue 30
It’s—um—still raining. Well, not right at this moment, but I’m beginning to wonder if the atmosphere still has any water left in it. Perhaps it has collapsed in on itself and we’re weeks away from an extinction-level event. Or maybe I’ve been reading too much science fiction lately. That’s also possible.

Redeeming the Time this New School Year
Kristen Hatton considers ways to redeem the days that fly by.
- With two children married and one entering his final year of college, I know how fast the years go by. And while we love the empty nester stage we are now in, I miss the activities that characterized our lives during my children’s growing up years. The school and sports-related activities, yes, but also the sitting down at the dinner table together, playing games, watching a TV series, relaxing by the pool, the laughter and noise. Worshipping together and discussing the sermon over Sunday lunch. The everyday conversations that come through normal family life together.

Ways to See and Support Foster Families
Melissa at Your Mom Has a Blog helps us see how we can help the helpers in our communities.
- When Chad and I unexpectedly entered the fostering world, I already knew some foster parents. I figured that only special people fostered kids, and that they had some sort of supernatural ability to handle it in a way that I was sure I could not.

Book Review: Brambly Hedge
Sarah Clarkson reviews an old favorite.
- When I think back to the favorite books of my childhood, books whose tang of atmosphere and illustration are still keen in my mind, one of the first I remember is the series of English country tales known as the Brambly Hedge books. These picture books were so intricately illustrated and vividly told that I remember them as if they were a place I visited, some small corner of earth that I explored.

Back to School: Beware the New Notebook Energy
Kelly Keller warns of the new Notebook that Will Change EverythingTM
- At the company Christmas party a couple years ago, the game had us all picking an object that would represent us for the Twelve Days of Christmas. Amidst the Party Puffins and Nose Hair Trimmers (yes, really) was my entry: the Perfect Planner. It’s become a bit of a joke on myself; I have tried everything in the planner department (within reason—no I will not be spending that much on a self-designed quest manual, thankyouverymuch).
