Summer’s Coming…Time to Get Reading!
Here at Story Warren we support long, lazy summer days filled with icy drinks, sunscreen, hammocks, and stacks of books! Maybe you’re headed to the beach for a time…maybe the mountains are calling…or maybe you’re enjoying the friendly boundaries of home for the summer. My family has had a very busy spring full of travel, so I, for one, am looking forward to hanging back at home for the next few months and reading some books in the comfort of my own backyard.
If you are like me, you always get a little more reading time in at this time of year! One great thing about books is that they travel so well. Whether it’s an audiobook, an e-reader, a paperback, or a treasured hardcover, books are friendly companions on the go, and they never, ever complain about the accommodations.
When it comes to the younger readers in our lives, some are especially motivated by seeing their progress with books add up over a summer season of reading. For them, we have a gift today: The Green Ember Summer Reading Tracker. As your reader finishes her book, she can color in one pair of pawprints on the path. By the time she’s at the end, the total number of books will have reached twenty-five!
We know that many of your kids are voracious readers, and they will far, far eclipse the number of books provided for here. So please feel free to print as many as you like, and link them into one mega-path that meanders all through your home. With multiple small readers in your home, you may be overtaken by pawprints.
As they start to take shape, we’d love to see photos of your readers and their trackers! You can always tag us on social media at @thegreenemberofficial and @story_warren.
Happy reading, friends!
