Story Warren Weekend, Vol. 14, Issue 19

Good morning,

It’s a weekend with an extra day for many of you in the States. Monday is set aside for remembering those who’ve died in the service of the country. It used to be called “Decoration Day,” but is now known as Memorial Day.

Author Brianna Lambert reminded us that the struggle that comes with play is worth it! “It seems strange to say that a vacation might be one way to bear the curse for another, but it’s no less true. In our play this summer we can model the sacrificial love of Christ as we give up our time in exchange for packing the car so that our children might see the shimmering light dancing atop the lake. We can shrug off the heavy burden of a sleepless night so that our kids can wake with wonder in a tent in the backyard.”

We’re running our May Mended Wood giveaway this weekend—it’s got titles that celebrate the great outdoors. Go to the post to enter, or find it on our social media channels. Don’t wait to enter. This one closes on Monday night!
