Story Warren Weekend, Vol. 13, Issue 48

Hello!

Happy Saturday-before-Christmas! This will be our last issue of 2025, and we’ll see you again in the New Year. Our best to you and your family as you celebrate the coming of the Christ.

Being Ourselves in Heaven: “God is the Creator of individual identities and personalities. He makes no two snowflakes alike, much less two people. Not even ‘identical twins’ are completely identical. Individuality preceded sin and the Curse. It’s God’s plan, and He receives greater glory through our differences.”

Our buddy Tim Briggs rounds up the best Christian Folk and Worship Music each year; here’s the 2025 edition. We were excited to see some familiar names on here, and we always discover great new music here, too.

Our allies at Slugs and Bugs have a new book to share! It’s a companion to the music you know and love. If you preorder now, you’ll get some downloads as a thank-you.

Around the Warren

How God Used A Christmas Carol to Resurrect Literature in My Life. Contributor John Sommer recalls how he was reunited with good books through the story of Ebenezer Scrooge. “There were twelve nights until Christmas, so we decided to read a little of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol every night. Each night, as my wife read those famous words, my dormant soul moved again.”

Christine Norvell brought us some Classic Christmas Poetry to share. With selections from C. S. Lewis, George MacDonald, and others, you’re sure to find something to read over a holiday meal or in your quiet moments in the coming weeks.
