Hello and Happy St. Valentine’s Day!
If you’re looking for a starting place for information concerning the man after whom we’ve named this now-romantic holiday, you can start right here. I find it charming that he is also the patron saint of beekeepers.

Around the Web
Christie Purifoy gave a beautiful introduction to her new title, A House to Call Home. “My latest book is about the life of one particular old house, the house I know best, the one that has been the making of me. Its life began before I ever came here, and its life will continue long after I am gone. The life of this house is utterly unique, and yet I am more and more convinced that all well-loved places can be havens for rest and welcome, healing and comfort.”
Rachel Toadvine discussed the relationship between creativity and screentime. “We were created by the wisest, most creative, most intricate, and most beautiful Creator—God. We were also created in his image, Imago Dei, which means that we have some of his attributes in us. This is why so many of us humans long to create in some way, whether we are writers, painters, homemakers, designers, engineers, or one of so many other wonderfully creative things. We also were created to work. All we endeavor to do takes hard work. We are designed to accomplish this work through and to the Lord.”
Around the Warren

At the beginning of the week we celebrated with contributor Scott James. Scott’s newest book is called Deep Breath, Little Whisper, and it explores a way to teach children to pray. Carolyn Leiloglou brought us a review. “God made us both body and soul, and the two parts affect each other. This is a fantastic way to teach kids—or anyone—to lean into God’s good gift of a body and turn our focus to Him.”
On Wednesday we revisited a classic with Hannah Abramson. “I see myself in the Velveteen Rabbit—less beautiful and more old-fashioned than my counterparts. Frankly, I sometimes feel as though I don’t fit in anywhere. I wonder: how do I become who I’m meant to be? And how do I become comfortable in my own fur? In the story, the Boy’s love makes the Rabbit become Real. In our lives, God’s love makes us become more Real versions of ourselves.”
Something to do with your kids
The Family Handyman has ideas for DIY birdfeeders. There’s even a Lego one!
Something to watch
Something tells me that his parents might have an issue with the amount of counter space taken up by the finished product…
