Story Warren Weekend, Vol. 14, Issue 38

Good morning,
Have you started planning for the holidays yet? In Monday’s newsletter, I’ll be including a link for you to contribute ideas for our 2026 Story Warren Gift Guide. This is basically a group project where everyone gets an A and nobody fails. Make sure you open up Monday’s email to learn more!
Around the Web
Imagination’s Role in Spiritual Formation. “When Jesus wanted to communicate important truths, he told stories. He invited his listeners into scenes like the mud of the pigsty or the smell of the fatted calf on the fire. Or the shepherd who left the 99 safe sheep to search for the one lost sheep. My mind’s eye envisions him searching for me.”
Here’s a nice roundup of children’s discipleship resources from the editors at The Gospel Coalition. This includes a few different categories, both for adults to use alongside children they are discipling, and some just for kids themselves.

Around the Warren
On Monday we celebrated the rerelease of The Charlatan’s Boy alongside our friends at The Rabbit Room. Check out the interview with author Jonathan Rogers for more background on the book. “Decent novels are wiser than their authors.”
Wednesday’s post brought us some parenting wisdom straight from Narnia, as Junius Johnson takes lessons from C. S. Lewis’ series for relating to his own children. “There is no long lingering over it, no lecturing about how we ought to have known better, what we should have done instead; he gets on with the business of relationship. In this way he reveals that the point of judgment is not some abstract notion of a justice that must be satisfied, but rather is unhindered and joyous fellowship.”
Something to do with your kids
The outside world usually has a lot to give us at this time of year: leaves, acorns, sticks, and the last remaining blooms. Maybe it’s time to make a fairy house!
Something to watch
So many Jerrys!
Thanks for reading. We’re on your side.
