Contributor Erica Robertson brought us a great review of this new children’s biography of Katie Luther, by Gretchen Ronnevik. “Katie Luther’s life challenged me to consider if I am living in bondage or in freedom — in bondage to the idea that my good works are what restores my relationship with God, or in freedom to do good works out of gratitude for God’s extravagant grace, resting securely in the perfect work of Christ.”

In his article about Louis L’Amour and the Moral Imagination, author Kevin Morse reveals the ways in which L’Amour’s books shaped his young imagination for good. “On those school nights, long after bedtime, under the blankets with a flashlight and a crick in my neck, I was riding the long dark trails of Louis L’Amour’s wild west. And that’s how my imagination was formed and given an education.”
