Your Kids’ Creations Featured at Story Warren? Let’s Make This Happen!

March 26, 2015 by S. D. Smith 7 Comments

Hello Friends,

We have loved being your Allies in Imagination. Our goal has always been to be a resource, a source of inspiration, an encouraging teammate in this game of parenting and loving kids.

“Construction is the best way to rebel against the established rebellion.” Zach Franzen

We have always wanted to do more than just talk about creation and imagination, we have wanted to get after it. Story Warren Shorts has been about that. I’d give us (mostly me) a C- on executing that so far, but help is on the way in that dept. We have more team members joining in and some really cool scenes hatching so look for Fridays to get more engaging.

We want to engage kids in creation and construction. We want to give an outlet for kids who are eager to tell their own stories, write their own poems, sing their own songs, and share their art in a variety of ways. We want to feature (some of) your kids’ art on Thursdays at Story Warren.

We are not going to publish everything we receive, but one or more will be posted every other Thursday. We will post the child’s work (poem, short story, song, or drawing, etc.) with a picture (drawn or photo) of the child giving a thumbs up.

This is Thumbs Up Thursdays!

Once a month we’ll pick a winner from the various entries and send that winner a cool prize.

We’re excited about this! Here are some guidelines.

*Keep it short (less than 1,000 words, preferably 500ish)

*Have Fun With It!

*No Pressure, We’re All Friends Here

*Send in submissions now, but Thumbs Up Thursdays will start up in a month or so.

We hope you’ll act on this wonderful opportunity for your child’s creations to be featured on Story Warren.image

We are!

Our own Ming-Wai Ng is going to be leading this new feature. She loves children, loves stories, and loves to share rewards! She’s going to be great at this and I’m very excited about her being the lead on Thumbs Up Thursdays!

Any questions? Shoot her a note. MingATStoryWarrenDOTCOM.

And get those submissions coming in.

On your side,

Sam
