While growing up the mountains of eastern Tennessee, Julie spent the majority of her free time at the dance studio taking classes, teaching, and rehearsing for performances. Her dance company traveled throughout the country and in Europe, hence the beginning of her love for Tookish adventures.
Julie spent several years working in and thoroughly enjoying corporate America. She left the banking world in 2000 to be home full time with her family. Julie and her husband live in NC, where she spends much of her day homeschooling the three youngest of their five children. She is a member of the Board of Directors for The Barnabas Center, a training and counseling ministry in Charlotte. She is actively involved in the vision and strategic planning for Barnabas as well as a contributor to their site, Redemption’s Road. Her own website, Greener Trees, features articles on wide subject material related to the arts, family, and more. The Greener Trees reading group on Facebook is another of her collaborative, creative adventures.
