This painting was done by Sharon Brewer. She was kind enough to send it to me a few weeks back. She sat in on the session Clay Clarkson and I did at Hutchmoot last year on Kingdom Anticipation in Family Life. This was the phrase my part of the talk boiled down to and I repeated it over and over like a parrot in shock. I’m happy to see that Sharon remembered.
I love the painting and feel so honored she shared it. It came at an important time for us, as well. Gina and I were in the middle of a really heavy, anxiety-filled talk about concerns over our community, church, and people we love. (We all have those talks, right?) So this served as a good reminder for us to refocus on what our life is for, to simplify (we can’t control much), and carry on by the power of the Spirit, in the Love of Christ, under the hand of the Father.
May it be a blessing to you, reader, as you navigate the turbulent waters of life, and look with hope for that port where the New World waits.
