We are excited, delighted and…um, ignited?….yeah, ignited…to invite you, our friends, to our very first conference ever in the history of the world, ever.
Inkwell: Story Warren’s Family Conference is set for June 21, 2014 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
(You can go straight to the conference page, find out the scoop, and register RIGHT NOW, or keep reading as I blabber on.)
Inkwell is an extension of our vision to be your allies as you foster holy imagination in your home and community. We’re on your side and we see this as a chance to invite God to do something special for our kids and families as we get together in person.
The conference is for kids aged 7 to 17 and their parents. Is that you?
We’re thrilled with the team we have assembled to serve your kids, including our featured speakers.
Andrew Peterson is a wonderful man and an incredible gift to the Church. He will be sharing from his experience as an author with your young storytellers and it’s going to be amazing.
Zach Franzen has been a crucial figure at Story Warren and he’s eager to share a vision with your kids for what illustration can be for Kingdom people. Zach is fantastic with kids and your young artists will love his session.
Rebecca Reynolds is a poet of alarming ability. She is going to knock the socks off your kids, unless they have smelly feet, then she will knock a second pair of socks onto their feet. She’s wise, she’s funny, she rhymes fun things with “bunny.” Your kids will love her, her session, and, more than before, the power and beauty of well-spent words.
Randall Goodgame is magic in front of kids. He will have your young ones laughing and learning and loving what is lovely. Randall is an amazing songwriter and a lover of godliness and silliness. His session is sure to inspire and light a fire of desire and also help kids not to make dumb rhymes. (Where was he in my childhood?)
More wonderful human beings will be there as well, including most of the Story Warren team. I will be there, if you find bald men comforting.
The conference is for kids…and it’s for families. The kids will be the ones registered, but it’s designed to serve your family. There will be more than just the featured sessions. There will be sessions for parents and much more. (I almost said “much, MUCH more,” but I held it back.) We’ll announce more in the coming weeks.
But you do want to sign up now if you plan to come, because there are limited spaces and we don’t know how soon they will be gone.
(You can go straight to the conference page, find out the scoop, and register RIGHT NOW, or keep reading as I blabber on.)
I struggled to keep my words few in describing what we hope this conference will be. Here’s some of what didn’t make the cut.

Is there any chance this conference might be recorded and available for purchase afterward? I’m not at all opposed to begging. I know it wouldn’t compare to being there in person, but for those of us who can’t… Please?
S.D. Smith says
I doubt it, Diane. But we will look into it. Thanks for caring enough to ask.
James Witmer says
Just gotta say, this is super exciting!
S.D. Smith says
Yes. Especially with James Witmer in the house.
Paula Nix says
I’m so geeky excited about this! Can’t. Wait.
S.D. Smith says
Us too! Glad you are coming!
Breann says
