Sam Smith hates peas. Hate is a strong word and he means it. He wishes there were a stronger word and if he ever comes to certain knowledge that such a word exists, he will use it in relation to peas. He has four wonderful kids of whom he does not require pea-eating. His brilliant and beautiful wife, Gina, may do as she pleases as regards peas and she (grossly) does indulge in eating them. Sam was born, and lives, in the warm hills of West Virginia. The African sojourn of his childhood changed his life. He is the author of the children’s adventure novel The Green Ember. He operates (like heavy machinery!) a website where he posts quotes, funny things, and the occasional essay. He is a contributor to The Rabbit Room, where he writes essays and lays low about peas. He loves the Bible, apples, C.S. Lewis, soccer, J.R.R Tolkien, wrestling his kids, P.G. Wodehouse, church, Appalachia, and not peas.
